Minsk hosts exhibition for children Grunwald in our memory

Literally every day in Belarus are the celebration of the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald — round tables, conferences, presentations, publications, theatrical spectacle, art exhibitions. To spend all this specially created committee, which includes representatives of the creative intelligentsia, scholars, priests. "Images of Grunwald soldiers" made Western artist Basil Rabiza (1914-1994) in 1923 — then the young artist was 9 years old. The exhibition presents the works of children's Vitus Water lilies — the younger son of the artist Mykola Water lilies. Vitus is now 21 years old, and a portrait of Vytautas the Great, he wrote when he was 8.

The exhibition — a lot of portraits, Vytautas the Great, his daughter Elena, Sofia Golshanskaya, the Polish king Jagiello. Presented battle painting — the most historic scenes of the Battle of Grunwald. Many pictures of monuments of architecture of the time, locks of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. There is a unique canvas by Jan Mel'nitskii "Map of Eastern Europe" beginning of the XV century. "

At the opening of the exhibition's curator, Deputy National Public Committee for the celebration of the 600th anniversary of the victory at Grunwald, artist Mikola Kupava noted that the Belarusian children know this historic event and reflect its peculiar.
