Nanocrystals, which grow at the Institute for Scintillation Materials, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kharkiv), can be effectively used to fight cancer.
— Cancer cells have all of the people. But in some they can doze peacefully until the end of life, while others suddenly start to grow and become cancerous. Their evil is that they penetrate the vital organs and inhibit their operation, causing death. Science still can not explain what is involved in the growth of malignant cells, but has made some progress in finding ways to fight cancer.

— That's right, and they have no analogues in the world, over the past three years, confirmed a dozen patents and certificates of authorship of scientific publications. Our achievements are presented at international scientific conferences, including the recent — in Poland and Lithuania. Due to established international relations of a number of projects carried out with the financial support of scientific institutions in the USA, Canada and EU countries. In our research colleagues are actively involved — scientists working in Kharkov Institute of Cryobiology and Cryomedicine and the Institute of Medical Radiology of NAMS, the Institute of Microbiology and Virology, National Academy of Sciences (Kiev) and the Kharkiv National Medical University.
— How far is it to the introduction of nanocrystals in medical practice?
— While that are pre-clinical trials in animals: mice, rats, hamsters. The results are encouraging — the nanocrystals can be an effective way to fight cancer.
