Moscow Helicopter Plant named after Mile began assembly of the first prototype of the Mi-171A2.
Earlier, Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant gave a new cost center fuselage helicopter, the beginning of mass production scheduled for the first half of 2014. It is expected that delivery of the first Mi-171A2 will begin in late 2014. Until that time, the machine will be a series of flight tests and certification of Russian and international flight standards.
The new helicopter will differ reduced maintenance costs and one flight hour. According to the draft, the Mi-171A2 with the main fuel tanks will be flown to a distance of 850 kilometers. An external load helicopter can carry loads of up to five tons.
In addition, Mi-171A2 will be to carry out flights at an ambient temperature of -50 to 50 degrees Celsius.
It will also increase the allowable crosswind speed at which it will be possible to implement a hover. Other specifications of the new machine is not yet known.
