Nevsky Shipyard August 15, 2011 laid the keel of the third self-propelled dry-cargo ship project RSD49, building number is number 403. Customer is JSC "North-Western Fleet", a project developed by JSC "Marine Engineering Bureau-Design-SPb" in collaboration with the customer and the builder of the plant-press-service of the plant.
The self-propelled dry-cargo vessel of RSD49 intended for transportation of general, bulk, timber, grain and large cargo and dangerous goods of classes 1, 1.4S, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 IMDG Code and Appendix B of the BC Code in the Caspian Sea as well as in the Mediterranean, Black, Baltic, White, and North seas, including voyages around Europe and in the Irish Sea in winter.
Three cargo holds — smooth-providing samossypanie cargo. Including one with a cut length of 50 m, which among other things allows you to carry "project" oversized and heavy cargo at offshore facilities of the Caspian Sea. In displacement vessels RSD49 project should be the largest of cargo ships satisfying dimensions of the Volga-Don canal.
Movement and maneuverability provided by two fixed pitch diameter 2600 mm, two outboard balancer rudders and bow thruster power of 200 kW.
