Rheumatic profile

Rheumatic profile — a set of specific blood tests needed to detect diseases of the joints and connective tissue. Appointed with suspected rheumatic disease.

Why do I need to do rheumatology profile?

Rheumatic profile is recommended for people who are experiencing discomfort and pain in the joints and allows to reveal the nature of arthritis, assess the dynamics of the disease.

What are the indications for rheumatological profile?

  • diseases of the joints;
  • rheumatoid arthritis;
  • reactive arthritis;
  • osteoarthritis;
  • low back pain;
  • systemic lupus erythematosus;
  • rheumatism.

What do the indicators of rheumatological profile?

1) C-reactive protein (CRP) — Sensor blood fastest reacting to tissue damage. Having reactive protein in serum — a sign of inflammation, injury, foreign body penetration into the microorganisms — bacteria, parasites, fungi. The more acute inflammatory disease activity, the higher the C-reactive protein in the blood serum.

Normal values of C-reactive protein: 0-5 Mg / l.

2) ASL-O (ASO, Antistreptolysin-O) — Streptococcus antibodies which are formed in the body after contacting with the agent. The highest rates are asl-o rheumatic conditions.

Normal values asl-o <200 U / ml.

3) Rheumatoid factor (RF)— Antibodies own immunoglobulin G, which are present in significant quantities in the serum of individuals with rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, as they appear at any acute inflammatory process.

The normal value of rheumatoid factor: 30 IU / ml.

4) Antinuclear antibodies (antinuclear antibodies ASA) —IgG antibodies to nuclear antigens of its own, whose detection in the serum indicates diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, periarteritis nodosa, dermatomyositis.

Normal values of antinuclear antibodies: they are not.

What kind of training is needed to study?

One day prior to blood sampling is necessary to exclude alcohol intake, for 1 hour — smoking. Blood collection is desirable to produce an empty stomach in the morning. Between the last meal and taking a blood sample should be at least 12 hours. Juice, tea, coffee is not allowed. You can drink the water. Necessary to eliminate the increased psycho — emotional and physical stress.

What are the dates of performance analysis?

1 day.
