Self-concept — The value, significance, which shall provide itself man as a whole, and certain aspects of his personality, activity, behavior. The basis of self-assessment of the value system of the individual.

Regulatory and self-esteem serves a protective function by influencing the behavior development personality and its relationship with other people. Self-concept formed on the basis of assessments of others, evaluation of their own activities, as well as on the basis of the ratio of real and ideal conceptions of ourselves.

Saving formed, habitual self-esteem becomes a human need. With this self-assessment related to a number of important phenomena, such as discomfort or affect the success of inadequacy (ie, ignoring the fact of failure and a desire to preserve the existing high self-esteem).
