CJSC "fiber-optic systems" (Mordovia) started construction in Saransk plant fiber — The first such venture in Russia, according to the website of the city administration. The plant's capacity is 2.5 million km fiber per year.
Construction will be done in two stages: in 2013 it is planned to complete the first starting complex in 2014 — the second one. The designed capacity is expected during the years 2015-2016, which will replace about 15-25% of the imports, the report says.
At present, Russia has 14 plants producing fiber optic cables. Optical fiber to produce them fully imported.
Earlier it was reported that the cost of the project amounts to 2.713 billion rubles. The investors are "RUSNANO" and Gazprombank (RTS: GZPR). Among the participants of the project — a state-owned enterprise "Directorate for the implementation of the national target program for the development of the Republic of Mordovia" and a national fund to support social and economic programs "Creation".
CJSC "fiber-optic systems" created in 2008 for the project. According to the data base "SPARK-Interfax," shareholders are, including, LLC "Finproekt" (Moscow, 100%-owned subsidiary of GPB), Mordovia fund "Creation" and the Directorate of the republican target program development.
