Netherlands: a huge crater discovered by scientists in Antarctica

The scientists using satellites under the ice of Antarctica have discovered a huge crater formed after the asteroid impact. This asteroid, according to scientists, is comparable in size to the asteroid, which, according to the generally accepted hypothesis, was the cause of death of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago.

As stated yesterday at a press conference, Professor Frans van der Hoeven of the University of Delfts in the Netherlands, studies have shown that an asteroid the size of which ranged from three to seven miles wide, broke into five pieces in the Earth's atmosphere.

After the fall of those parts on the planet's surface on an area of 1 300 thousand to 2 thousand 400 miles craters were formed. It happened about 780 million years ago.
