Novosibirsk region begins to modernize housing facilities using cogeneration technologies

GE, LLC "Siberian Heat Energy Company", JSC "MTE Finance", by the Government of the Novosibirsk Region, signed the Agreement on Cooperation in the framework of the modernization of existing housing and communal services, in particular with the use of high-efficiency co-generation technologies.

In the Novosibirsk region will be implemented about 10 projects in the field of modernization of outdated boilers, transfer them to a cogeneration energy production and construction of the new mini-thermal power up to 25 MW.

The agreement provides, as a pilot project, the construction of a mini-TES in a working village Linevo thermal capacity of 70 MW and an electrical output of 12 MW based on the GE Jenbacher gas engine plant to be commissioned into service in 2013-2014.

"This is a unique project in the framework of the federal program for the modernization of housing and utilities. Until now, cogeneration plants based on gazoproshnevyh machines are widely used only in the industrial sector and private business. We are pleased that our relationship with the company GE, SibTEK and MTE Finance served as the basis for the construction of the first plant for heat and electricity, which will be the main consumer of the population of the Novosibirsk region. This is a prime example of what we contribute to the initiatives as businesses, private investors and support the introduction of modern technologies in the territory of the region. We will continue to actively develop this area ", — said the Governor of the Novosibirsk region Vasily Yurchenko.

«GE has long established itself in Russia as a reliable supplier of high-tech and proven solutions for projects in the energy sector. Long-term cooperation with the operating companies, private investors and the Government of the Novosibirsk region, as well as the construction of a pilot mini-TES in Linevo, will be one of the first successful steps of the company's strategy for the improvement of housing and communal services in Russia ", — said the president and CEO of GE in Russia and the CIS Ron Pollett.

Jenbacher GE gas engines are a key element of the solution portfolio of distributed generation and GE provide any customers, including industrial enterprises, government agencies, providing assistance during natural disasters and other emergencies with the power supply, the ability to obtain a reliable source of energy in any place and at any time. GE JENBACHER gas piston engine has the highest levels of efficiency, power density and is designed for long-term power generation. GE JENBACHER technology is designed to meet the needs of customers who need a decentralized and independent power supply. The basic structure of a mini-TES GE Jenbacher includes power units, consisting of a motor and a generator, as well as heat exchangers for utilization of waste heat. The use of all sources of heat — engine coolant, oil, and exhaust energy — increases the energy efficiency of power systems GE Jenbacher. Burning alternative gas reduces emissions and stimulate the efficient use of natural resources.

In the context of ever increasing energy costs, improve the overall energy consumption and improve environmental requirements for industrial facilities, increasing emphasis on the combined production of electricity and heat using cogeneration systems, enabling innovative Jenbacher systems are among the world leaders — the manufacturers of electricity and heat. The use of cogeneration technology has a wide range of industry. Today, GE Jenbacher gas piston installation work on various Russian objects: a boiler, the oil fields, gas fields, in greenhouses, data centers, etc.
