Scientists will discuss the issue of climate change at a forum in Novosibirsk

Honorary President of the Russian Geographical Society, Academician Vladimir Kotlyakov climatologist Terry Callaghan and other world-class scientists will discuss various aspects of climate change, including the melting of the permafrost, the "World Forum of snow," which will be held in Novosibirsk in January 2013, told RIA Novosti Monday the head of Media Relations Forum Anton Nagornyak.

"Vladimir Kotlyakov, in particular, will talk about the role of snow in the formation of climatic and ecological characteristics of the natural environment" — said Nagornyak.

Kotlyakov — Russian geographer and glaciologist, Academician, Director of Institute of Geography, Russian Academy of Sciences, one of the ideologists of the deep drilling project at the station "Vostok" in Antarctica.

"Snow World Forum" will be held January 17-20, 2013 in Novosibirsk. The main objective of the forum — to discuss creating a comfortable environment and development of the northern and snowy areas. The forum program will include three main areas: Congress "Ecology of the northern territories", the international exhibition "The snow and the urban economy", the international exhibition "Industry of winter sports and recreation."
