The heyday of terrorism, increase in drug production and trafficking, the mass murder of civilians — these are the results of the presence of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan. On this, as reported by Iranian television, said at a conference held in Istanbul on Afghanistan, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi.
"Nothing else in Afghanistan is the presence of no avail. It is a serious destabilizing factor for the region and international security, "- said the head of Iran's diplomacy. In his opinion, to stabilize the situation in Afghanistan is possible only through greater regional cooperation, without interference from distant regions. "Expansionist plans of the U.S. and the extension of the U.S. presence in Afghanistan under the pretext of the alleged desire to eradicate extremism will in no way contribute to and strengthen the security of any samostrane nor in the region" — said Salehi.
He said Iran's long-standing position on Afghanistan, which is the demand for the withdrawal from Afghanistan of foreign forces.
