The United States and the European Union once again called on the Belarusian authorities to immediately and unconditionally release all political prisoners.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton after talks in Washington with the supreme representative of the foreign policy European Union Catherine Ashton, made the following statement:
"Both of us, Kate and I are concerned about the repression in Belarus, and I approve of a strong statement, which she did on the weekend. U.S. consider litigation in the case of events of December 19 politically motivated, and we call for the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners. "
On Saturday Ashton reiterated that the EU is ready to consider "further targeted restrictive measures in all areas of cooperation" with the official Minsk.
