An earthquake with magnitude 5.3 occurred near the Commander Islands

Earthquake of magnitude 5.3 occurred in the Pacific Ocean near the Commander Islands, according to the Far Eastern Regional Center of MOE.

The epicenter was registered on Friday night, was located 200 kilometers south-east of the Bering Island at a depth of 33 kilometers under the seabed.

In the only settlement on the Commander — Aleutian village Nikolsky Kamchatka region, home to about 800 people, significant earthquake was not felt.

Victims or damage. The threat of a tsunami has not been announced.
