Northern lights darkened lights of New YorkCoronal mass ejection on the Sun on October 24 at approximately 22:00 MSK called magnetic storm on Earth. Many observers both in North America and Scandinavia have reported unprecedented powerful northern lights. Center for Meteorology and Oceanography, U.S. Navy (FNMOC) in Monterey, California, on Wednesday unveiled pictures of the northern lights from space.

Images made using optical and infrared cameras of American military satellites F18, transmits website "These images show the northern lights on October 25, 01:40 GMT", — said Paul McCrone from FNMOC.

Photos have an extensive area of light, completely covering the Great Lakes of North America and extending in the direction of Iceland and Scandinavia. It can be seen that the intensity of lights is not inferior to the brightness of the light from the major U.S. cities, including New York.
