As part of an aggressive strategy of high-yield segment of the pig Group "Cherkizovo" announced the launch of three new production at pig farms in Tambov, Voronezh and Lipetsk areas.
The new complexes are integrated modules for 4800 sows each consisting of several stand-alone sites for breeding, rearing and fattening, equipped with the most modern equipment. Full capacity at each complex will amount to 12,500 tonnes of live weight per year.
Construction of these facilities began in the fall of 2010 and during 2011 at all three pig farms have been opened for the breeding grounds (loudspeakers). At the moment we are building sites for growing and fattening, and put them into service is planned for 2012.
Total investment in the three new pig farm of about 4 billion rubles (about U.S. $ 130 million), with 20% of this amount is financed by own funds, and 80% — at the expense of bank loans. It is assumed that with the release pig at full capacity by the end of 2013, their total production will reach 37,500 tonnes of live weight per year.
General Director of "Cherkizovo" Sergei Mikhailov said: "We are pleased to announce the launch of the operation of the three pig farms Tambov, Voronezh and Lipetsk. They will provide our company to increase production capacity in the high-yield segment, and their location will have a significant synergistic effect based on the proximity to the existing ones, the Group "Cherkizovo" pig-breeding and processing facilities. In addition, expanding its own production, we contribute to the development of domestic livestock and implementation of the government program of food security. "
