About 200 children, who were resting in one of the camps of the Pskov region, which ran into a rabid squirrel, is under special control of doctors, 70 of them are vaccinated, told reporters on Tuesday the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Chief Medical Officer Gennady Onishchenko.
According to him, the first time in many years in a country camp, which is located in the woods, ran protein. The animal was not afraid of kids, and they played with him. Later it turned out that this protein is sick with rabies.
"Now we have 122 children under special control, and 70 children who are directly held this protein in their hands, and could be oslyunenie, the vaccine is given," — said Onishchenko.
The representative of the regional administration, in turn, told RIA Novosti that the arrival of the second shift postponed for five days. Camp will resume on Wednesday.
Regional Board of Education and the Center for Children's rest and recovery are checking the proper administration of the official duties of the first shift. The guilty will be punished, said the official.
Employees of the regional education department call up a family whose children are campers and are urged to contact the health institution for examination and vaccination. In addition, free vaccinations against rabies are employees of summer camps.
Currently Pskov authorities in all country camps sent instructions on how to avoid contact of children and adults with wild animals.
