Pacific typhoon "Nanmadol" attacked Taiwan today, hit the island of tropical storms and hurricane winds with gusts up to 38 meters per second, according to ITAR-TASS.
To participate in the relief operations and the liquidation of consequences of natural disasters authorities mobilized 35 thousand soldiers. Because of the threat gathering mudflows and landslides were evacuated five thousand inhabitants of mountainous regions.
According to the weather service, is now the epicenter of a giant atmospheric crater is 40 km from Kaohsiung — the second largest city and the largest port in southern Taiwan. Due to the bad weather on the island canceled many flights disrupted ferry and rail service, closed schools and offices. Taipei Stock Exchange, however, continues to work as normal.
