Fire International Children’s Games Sports Art-Intellect lit in Novosibirsk

Fire International Children's Games "Sports Art-Intellect" lit today in Novosibirsk during the torch relay of the XXVII World Summer Universiade 2013. Special flask with fire, before the Games begin on June 25, will be stored at the Museum of Olympic Glory Novosibirsk region.

International Children's Games "Sports-Art-Intellect" are unique in the world, they will gather in Novosibirsk, more than 3.5 million children from 70 regions of Russia and abroad. The basic idea of children's games — the harmonious development of man and the trinity of sports, art, intellect.

"International Children's Games — a unique launch pad for young talent, which in future will be able to represent our country at the Universiade, World and European Championships, the Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympics," — told Itar-Tass mayor of Novosibirsk Vladimir Gorodetsky.

The fire lit the International Children's Games a young athlete, Candidate Master of Sports in Rhythmic Gymnastics Basil Karelin. The ceremony of lighting the fire was attended by Governor Vasily Yurchenko, the mayor of Novosibirsk Vladimir Gorodetsky, Novosibirsk famous athletes, Olympic champions: Alexander Karelin, Yevgeny Podgorny, BOGALIY-Titovets.

The grand opening of the International Children's Games will be held in the stadium "Spartak" on June 25. The ceremony will be attended by representatives of the Russian Olympic Committee, the winners of the Olympic Games.
