JSC "Mechel" said the launch of the operation Uvatsk deposit of quartzite and delivery of the first batch of raw material from it at «Bratsk Ferroalloy Plant"

 

The leading Russian mining and metals companies, announces the launch of a permanent operation Uvatsk deposit of quartzite and delivery of the first batch of raw material from the field in the OOO "Bratsk Ferroalloy Plant."

Approximately 680 tons of quartzite mined in the field, have been put on the Bratsk Ferroalloy Plant in March 2013. Implementation of the project development Uvatsk deposit was conducted over four years at the expense of their own forces and means of ferroalloy "Mechel".

Already in the second half of 2013 Bratsk Ferroalloy Plant will be fully provided its own ore for the production of high-grade ferrosilicon with a silicon content of 65-75%. Ltd. "Bratsk Ferroalloy Plant" won the competition to acquire the right to use the subsoil on Uvatsky deposit of quartzite and quartz sandstones in May 2008. The field is located in the Irkutsk region, 24 km south of the city Nizhneudinsk.
