In Obninsk, Kaluga region of the gala launch of the 220 kV Peace, which will replace the physically and morally outdated sub-station of the same name. Modern, high-tech and fully automated power facility capacity of 400 MVA, meets all the requirements of international standards.
Construction of the substation was carried out in the framework of the Agreement on the development of the energy complex Kaluga region, concluded between JSC "FGC UES" and the administration of the region in January 2011. The document is to eliminate deficit of energy supply in the region, which will contribute to further industrial and economic growth of the Kaluga region.
The commissioning of substation "Peace" increased reliability of electricity supply industry Obninsk and industrial park "Vorsino", including JSC "Kaluga Research and Production Electric Metallurgical Plant" (part of the NLMK), and the All-Russian Research Institute of Agricultural Radiology and Agroecology, the Medical Radiological Research Centre of Russian Academy of Medical Sciences.
An area of 5 hectares housed the substation equipment: 2 auto-transformer with a capacity of 200 MVA and two transformers of 16 MVA, outdoor switchgear 110 kV and 220 kV, indoor switchgear 10 kV. On the new substation Peace perezavedeny operating lines 110 — 220 kV, as well as cable subscriber line 6 kV. All construction works were carried out without interruption in power supply to consumers.
Reconstruction of power facilities in the region will continue. In particular, the two times will be increased power substation "Sputnik" in Obninsk — up to 500 MVA. Next object — the modernization of transit, to increase network capacity.
