Of "Oka Shipyard" on Tuesday launched the second ship of the five for Volga Shipping Company — multipurpose cargo ship project RSD-44, According to the press service of the company.
"Oka Shipyard" has until the end of 2011 to finish and pass the "Volga Shipping" five ships, five more ships will be constructed and handed over in 2012. The total cost of the ordered 10 vessels — 4.7 billion rubles.
The project of building a series of vessels RSD-44 is carried out under a leasing scheme of government support of domestic shipbuilding: co-financing of state-owned United Shipbuilding Corporation (85%) and future owner of the ship — Volga Shipping Company (15%) on a state subsidy of the refinancing rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
Bulk carriers RSD-44, designed for the carriage of bulk, general cargo and container vessels will gradually replace the previous series "Volga-Don".
"Oka Shipyard" — founded in 1907 by shipyard in the south-west of the Nizhny Novgorod region, in Navashino on the river Oka. Shipyard is a major manufacturer and supplier of river and sea vessels of various types and purposes.
