Retail trade turnover in Russia grew in 2012 by 5.9%

Retail trade turnover in Russia in December 2012 amounted to 2 trillion 299.5 billion rubles, which is the mass of commodities is 5% more of the same period last year. These data are the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat).

Compared with the previous month, the turnover of retail trade increased in December to 20.8%.

Overall, in 2012 it amounted to 21 trillion 319.9 billion rubles, which is the mass of commodities by 5.9% more than in the previous year.

According to Rosstat, the turnover of retail trade by 89.4% formed by trading organizations and individual entrepreneurs operating out of the market, the share of retail markets and fairs was 10.6% (in 2011 — 88.4% and 11.6 %, respectively), in December 2012 — 89.8% and 10.2%, respectively (December 2011 — 88.9% and 11.1%).

In 2012, in the structure of retail trade turnover the share of food products, beverages and tobacco products was 46.5%, non-food products — 53.5% (in 2011 — 47.7% and 52.3%, respectively), December last year — 46.9% and 53.1%, respectively (December-2011 — 47.3% and 52.7%).

Recall that in 2011 the retail trade turnover in Russia amounted to 19 trillion 75 billion rubles, which is the mass of commodities is 7.2% higher than the 2010 result.
