Belarus has prepared a draft agreement on the sale of 50% shares of "Beltransgaz" belonging to the state.

The source said that the intention to buy shares of "Beltransgaz" was voiced by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in March this year at a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers. The Russian side, the official said, has expressed interest in acquiring the 50% of "Beltransgaz" for $ 2.5 billion. At the same time, Putin asked Belarusian side Russia not to impose additional conditions.

Now 50% of shares of "Beltransgaz" is owned by the Russian company "Gazprom", the remaining 50% — the Belarusian state.
