The inhabitants of a small village Lyanyuan, located in the South Chinese province of Hunan, the last few months can not live in peace. The reason for their fears were increased incidence of falls right in the village. Since September of last year, there were over 20 Lyanyuane landslides of varying depth and diameter.
Due to such a number of landslides, some local families have lost their homes. The sad thing to warn the villagers about a new disaster is not possible, as to predict the exact time of the collapse and the specific point on the map where there will be a gaping hole that is almost impossible. Also in the area was observed drying sections of some rivers, next to the bed of which have deep ruts and rock falls.
According to preliminary estimates of geologists, more and more landslides occur in this part of Hunan, because there is a lot of development of coal deposits and increasing the number of producing mines. They violate the internal harmony and stability of the soil at many levels and lead to massive landslides. While there is no formal action to prevent recurrence of landslides in Lyanyuane.
