Colombia / Venezuela: Landslides and ground faults

October 12, 2011. Natural phenomenon has affected more than 20 farms and homes in the Las Tres Marias, jurisdiction Turbaco, Colombia. According to geologists, who arrived in the disaster area, the phenomenon seems to happen because of the micro-earthquakes that led to activation of geological faults that intersect the sector.

In some places the ground goes to a depth of 10 meters. Within a few days, people feel small bumps, and therefore began to worry and to take measures to evacuate.
