More than three thousand people of Nicaragua were forced to leave their homes due to the eruption of the volcano of San Cristobal in the west of the country, said on Sunday BBC Radio and Television BBC.

According to the Press Secretary to the Government of Nicaragua Rosario Murillo (Rosario Murillo), only the eruption could affect more than 20,000 people.

The eruption of the volcano of San Cristobal, located 150 kilometers north of the capital of Nicaragua, Managua, began on Saturday. From the crater of the volcano ash column rose to a height of about four kilometers. Hundreds of people began to leave their homes before the official announcement of the evacuation.
