Maras salt terraces

Ever since the days of the Inca Empire is known that in Peru, near the small town of Maras was mined salt. It was at that time the story went to the famous salt terraces.

Mined salt for a very simple technology. Salt water come to the surface in a pre-made people special pools. The water from the salt solution is evaporated by the sun, and the people of the city can only collect the remaining salt and put up for sale.

About a month spent on it to fill a bath, but then opens an indescribable sight. A lot of white terraces, consisting of the filling with salt baths, give the impression of cells covering the mountain slopes. This view is simply mesmerizing.
