January 25. The company "OMZ Special Steels", part of OMZ Group, has completed construction of the new heat-treatment furnace.
The new shaft electric furnace of vertical type is used for heating by normalizing, quenching and tempering workpieces steam turbine rotors of turbine generators, propeller shafts and other lengthy pieces of high-chromium steels. The volume of investment in the project amounted to 106 million rubles.
The furnace will produce heat-treated products with a diameter of up to 3.5 meters and a length of 12 meters. It meets all current standards and requirements relating to the vertical thermal furnaces new generation. Temperature control accuracy — ± 5 ° C, heating rate — 80 ° C / hour. Cooling rate — 80 ° C / hour. The new furnace is expected to conduct heat treatment pieces of the now useable and promising new high-chromium steels. Quenching temperature can reach 1150? C. Currently, none of the existing manufacturing facility at Izhorskii vertical furnace does not produce thermal operation at this temperature. In addition, the commissioning of a new vertical furnace will provide a 10% reduction in power consumption for thermal treatments.
In the newly constructed oven pre-commissioning works that are carried out by specialists of the company — manufacturer of the equipment, Bosio (Slovenia). Enter the furnace is planned for the I quarter of this year.
