Planning for pregnancy — The preparation of the couple to conceive a healthy baby. Includes a conscious decision to have a baby, a full examination of the body expectant mother (and, if necessary, and the Pope), detection and treatment of diseases that may affect the health of the unborn child or the mother's ability to bear and give birth to a baby.

During pregnancy and childbirth woman's body undergoes a lot of stress on all the vital organs. With a vengeance work the heart, kidneys, liver, experiencing a lot of stress the nervous, immune, endocrine system. It is therefore desirable to prepare for pregnancy in advance, best of all — for2-3 months before the proposed conception.

Pregnancy planning can avoid many health problems and increases the chances of having a baby at all and healthy child in particular. Ideally, a woman should advance to visit a gynecologist, dentist, therapist, ENT and, if necessary, more specialists to detect and to treat chronic diseases. In addition, it should be tested for the "hidden" infections that occur unnoticed, but can harm the child, to investigate the hormonal status, do a pelvic ultrasound and take other necessary research. In some cases, a few months before the pregnant women are advised to be vaccinated (often against rubella and hepatitis B) to avoid problems while carrying a child.

At the same time, do not worry much if pregnancy unplanned. In the first ten days of the embryo is not to attach to the uterine wall and joined the mother's blood circulation — so those harmful substances that enter into her blood (alcohol, drugs, etc.), the child is not being received. Immediately after the determination of pregnancy, a woman should see a gynecologist and a complete examination to detect (and possibly eliminate) the health problems and prepare for the birth of a healthy baby.

Visiting Professionals

Start planning a pregnancy should visit a gynecologist. The doctor will examine medical records a woman finds out all about previous pregnancies, abortion, contraception, and transferred the existing diseases. After examination, the gynecologist will give the woman directions for tests and surveys, and in cases of suspected health problems advise to visit the appropriate specialists (endocrinologist, surgeon, allergist, etc.).

It is further recommended visiting a therapist, whose task is the diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases that can complicate pregnancy. For the detection and remediation of chronic foci of infection should consult an ENT doctor and a visit to the dentist.

If the family were hereditary diseases (Down syndrome, myodystrophy, Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, etc.) or cases of stillbirth should consult a genetics. Genetics may conduct special studies to identify genetic abnormalities, to forecast the birth of a healthy baby.

Immunizations

  • In addition, we recommend vaccination against hepatitis B.
  • Additionally, you can be vaccinated against diphtheria, tetanus, and influenza.

Measurement of basal body temperature

Within a few months she will need to measure basal body temperature. All measurements are recorded in a schedule that should show the gynecologist. According to this schedule, the doctor can diagnose a number of violations and, if necessary, to appoint an in-depth examination.

Immediately prior to conception

If everything was in order, you can begin immediate preparations to conceive. Couples recommended for 2-3 months did not drink any medicine without first talking to your doctor, gynecologist, or smoke (in extreme cases — to reduce the number of cigarettes, go to the cigarette lighter), do not drink alcohol (more than 100 ml of wine a day ), do not abuse coffee, eat more fruits and vegetables, do not take hot baths, do not walk in baths and saunas, try not to get sick.

Women in the three months prior to the alleged conception must start taking vitamins with folic acid.

Now you can stop and start actually protect fertility. According to statistics, healthy couples who have sex 2-3 times a week without contraceptives, for the conception generally takes several months to a year. So do not worry if the first attempt failed. This may be due to the recent acquisition of hormonal birth control pills, stress, change of lifestyle, etc.

If at the end of the year pregnancy do not come, you need to see a gynecologist. Modern medicine has cured many cases of both female and male infertility. In a pinch, you can use the methods of in vitro fertilization (IVF, ICSI, etc.).
