Three snow leopard cubs were born in Czech zoo

Three rare snow leopard cubs were born at the zoo of the Czech town of Jihlava, Czech news agency CTK reported.

"Newborns are still with her mom, zoo visitors can see the kittens, probably next month" — said zoo spokeswoman Katerina Kosova.

Zoo in Jihlava there 55 years, during which time there were born 18 snow leopards.

"In this sense, our zoo is a world leader in the conservation of endangered species," — said Kosovo.

Snow Leopard or Snow Leopard — a large wild animal of the cat family that lives in the mountains of Central Asia. In the twentieth century, the snow leopard has been listed in the Red Book of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, and in the Red Book of Russia. Total number of this species in the wild is estimated by experts at approximately 6.5 thousand individuals.
