4.8-magnitude earthquake occurred in Kamchatka, no tsunami threat

Earthquake of magnitude 4.8 occurred on Monday in Avachinsky Bay off the eastern coast of Kamchatka, told RIA Novosti the Geophysical Service of Russian Academy of Sciences.

The epicenter was registered in 20.36 local time (12.36 MSK), located 80 kilometers north-east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, at a depth of 33 kilometers under the seabed.

Residents of Petropavlovsk, where about 60% of the Kamchatka region, felt tremors around 3 points. The houses were swaying chandelier tinkled dishes.
