6.3 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Japan

Earthquake of magnitude 6.3 occurred on the night of Friday to the east, the largest island of Honshu in Japan, according to a statement on the website of U.S. Geological Service.

According to seismologists, the epicenter occurred at 10.05 local time (04.05 MSK) earthquake was located 270 kilometers east of the city of Iwaki and 412 kilometers northeast of Tokyo. Hearth tremors occur at a depth of 31 kilometers.

No tsunami threat, the casualties or damage were reported.

A powerful earthquake of magnitude 9.0 occurred on March 11 in northeastern Japan, causing a tsunami of more than ten meters. The number of victims has exceeded 15 thousand.
