MOSCOW, May 15 — RIA Novosti. Earthquake of magnitude 6.5 occurred on Sunday off the coast of Papua New Guinea in the Pacific Ocean, the site of the U.S. Geological Survey.

According to the service, the earthquake lies at a depth of 43 kilometers, the epicenter of the quake was located at a distance of 122 kilometers to the west of Arabia, located on the island of Bougainville.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Miami said that the threat of a tsunami there.

Bougainville is the largest island in the archipelago of the Solomon Islands. He is part of the State of Papua New Guinea.
