An explosion at a mine in the Volyn region, Ukraine


KIEV, June 24 — RIA Novosti, Alain Mate. Uncontrolled explosion without subsequent fire occurred at the mine in Novovolynsk in the Volyn region of Ukraine, one miner was killed and three others injured, according to a Friday press service of Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The explosion took place on Thursday evening on the horizon 370 meters at the time of the planned blasting.

"He was killed one miner, three miners with injuries of varying severity hospitalized," — said in a statement.

As of Friday morning, the two were hospitalized in serious condition, one more — in a state of moderate severity. At the mine, a special commission to investigate the causes of the explosion.

The situation is under the control of the regional emergency department.
