China: Earthquake 6.0 in Xinjiang, 144 thousand victims

November 1, 2011. About 143.8 thousand people were injured and more than 2,453 houses were damaged in the earthquake of magnitude 6.0, which occurred on Tuesday morning in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, northwest China.

Profiles of the victims have not yet been reported. According to official data, the damage was 63.6 thousand houses, of which seriously affected 25.1 thousand dwellings, economic loss of 358 million yuan (56.4 million dollars).
