Earthquake of magnitude 4.8 occurred in Hungary

The strongest since 1985, an earthquake of magnitude 4.8 occurred on Saturday in western Hungary, tremors were felt in the capital, Budapest, has informed the Ministry of Emergency Situations. No casualties and no injuries reported

Some buildings suffered minor damage, such as cracks, fallen plaster. The authorities intend to expose the special audit bridges and tunnels to ensure their safety.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey website, the epicenter of which occurred in 18.41 local time (20.41 Moscow time) the earthquake was located 55 kilometers west of Budapest. Push occurred at a depth of 8.3 kilometers. Geological Survey estimates the strength of the earthquake at 4.2, transfers RIA "Novosti" with reference to the AP.
