Earthquake of magnitude 6.1 occurred in the Pacific Ocean

Earthquake of magnitude 6.1 occurred on Sunday in the Pacific Ocean to the north-east ridge of the Kermadec Islands of New Zealand, said in a statement on the website of U.S. Geological Service.

According to seismologists, the epicenter of which occurred in 09.17 local time (01.17 MSK) earthquake was located 942 kilometers north-east of New Zealand Auckland, its center lies at a depth of 19.8 kilometers.

No tsunami threat, the casualties or damage were reported.
