Heavy rain has killed more than a hundred Chinese


In southern China for 10 days — from June 3 — poured torrential rains. Rains caused floods, landslides, debris flows, as a result of which, as of Monday morning, 105 people were killed and 63 were missing. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the PRC. According to RBC, more than 60,000 people were evacuated. Total flood affected about 8.5 million people in China.

The most affected provinces of Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou and Jiangxi. It severed power lines, people were left without telephone service. Downpours triggered landslides in 13 provinces.

Before coming to the South China heavy rains Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi in the months suffered an unprecedented drought in half a century.
