Magnitude 6.5 earthquake occurred off the coast of Kamchatka

The new earthquake, whose magnitude was 6.5, occurred off the coast of Kamchatka on Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

According to the service, the epicenter was located at 244 km south-west of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, near the area where the previous day was recorded quake of magnitude 6.9. Hearth lies at a depth 40.9 kilometers.

In this case, according to the Emergencies Ministry, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 50 kilometers and reached the 6.4 power ball.

"Feels 3-4 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and 5 points in the North-Kurilsk. Threats of tsunami victims and destructions," — said in a statement.
