In the state of Veracruz in the southeast of Mexico was a powerful earthquake measuring 6.5 points. The earthquake happened on April 7 in 11.08 local time (17.11 GMT) near the town of Coatzacoalcos, tremors were felt in the capital Mexico City.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake lies at a depth of 167.4 kilometers, reports RIA "Novosti" with reference to the Associated Press.
No evidence of the damage and the number of casualties has not yet been received. No tsunami threat.
This is the third major earthquake in Mexico for the past two weeks. The first magnitude 5.8 occurred on Sunday March 27 at the Pacific coast south of Mexico. A second magnitude 7.2 magnitude occurred on April 5 at the north.
