NIIES Russian plans to build a wave power plant in Chile

Research Institute of Energy Structures (NIIES, part of JSC "RusHydro") can build a power plant in Chile that converts wave power into electricity (VolnES), reports generating company.

Besides the construction of wave power plant 3.5 MW in the coastal waters of the island Guakolda NIIES Chilean side and agreed to implement another project — installing turbines on the spillway TPP Guakolda which capacity could reach 100 — 200 kW.

JSC "RusHydro" — the largest generating company in Russia, bringing together 68 renewable energy facilities. Installed capacity "RusHydro" is 26.1 GW, including the Sayano-Shushenskaya power plant (6.4 GW), which is currently under reconstruction.
