Around 5000 people were forced to flee their homes because of the floods in the north-eastern part of the large island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines. At least two people were killed.
The disaster affected provinces of North and South of Surigao and Dinagat Islands that are part of the administrative district of Karaga.
City government and the province of Surigao Surigao North had to resort to forced evacuation, which has touched 4.8 thousand people.
In all, flooding has affected at least 100,000 people in the province of North Surigao.
Landslides caused by heavy rains and floods disrupted Highways message terminated schools open.
Also suspended sea links between the city of Surigao and Dinagat Islands.
