Popocatepetl volcano is surrounded by several highly populated cities of Puebla, Tlaxcala and Mexico City. Their total population is over 20 million. On Friday, the eruption of the volcano, which was accompanied by emitting large amounts of ash, steam and magma. The authorities have already prepared an escape route, ambulances and shelter in the event of major eruption.
If the situation continues, the airport in Mexico City will have to cancel all flights and thousands of people from neighboring villages are forced to flee their homes.

Periodic small volcano Popo, as it is known locally, began to take place in 1994. But a week ago the force of eruptions began to increase rapidly, in connection with what authorities reported an increased level of risk to people living nearby.
