Popocatepetl volcano is surrounded by several highly populated cities of Puebla, Tlaxcala and Mexico City. Their total population is over 20 million. On Friday, the eruption of the volcano, which was accompanied by emitting large amounts of ash, steam and magma. The authorities have already prepared an escape route, ambulances and shelter in the event of major eruption.
