The largest lake in China continues to grow shallow

According to the Meteorological Service of China, four months of this year, rainfall in Jiangxi Province was 274 mm, which is 55% less than normal. This fact had a negative effect on the water level in a freshwater lake Poyang. Despite the increase in discharge water from the reservoir on the Yangtze River and past the last week of heavy rainfall, the water level in the largest lake in China is still at more than 4 feet below the average. According to "Xinhua", low water levels in Poyang Lake has caused a severe shortage of water for irrigation, and a negative impact on fish resources.Source:
