Earthquake of magnitude 6.1 occurred on Tuesday in Chile, information on casualties or damage were reported.
As the University of Chile Geophysics, oscillations of the earth's crust were felt in the central part of the country, including the capital Santiago. The epicenter was located in the Pacific Ocean 52 kilometers north-west of the village of Los Vilos, and focus lies at a depth 44 km. The threat of a tsunami there, ITAR-TASS reported.
Chile is still recovering from the effects of the earthquake magnitude 8.8, which occurred February 27, 2010, followed by a tsunami. The victims were then raging element 524, another 31 are still unaccounted for.
