GP "Solotvinskiy pit" located in the village Solotvyno Tyachiv region Zakarpattia region. The company in a dangerous condition, its mines flooded, making it impossible for the safe operation of pumping units and creates a risk of accidents during work on their service.

Researchers concluded that the lack of funding from the state budget, the cessation of work for the maintenance of the ecological balance will lead to man-caused environmental disaster in the border area with the European Union in the valley of the transboundary river Tisza.

In order to prevent negative effects, the researchers note, it is necessary, in accordance with the project of preservation, which passed the state economy, mining and environmental expertise, to provide funding to the salt mines for two years in the amount of 100 million USD.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has instructed Prime Minister Mykola Azarov to decide future action of the state enterprise "Solotvinskiy pit" in connection with the possibility of disaster.

According to the commission, the issue should be resolved prior to January 1, 2011.

Yanukovych also ordered the prime minister to 15 December this year to finance the elimination of flood mines SE "Solotvinskiy pit" and, if necessary, decide on appropriate measures to increase government funding in 2010.
