More than 120 hectares of forest burning in Siberia


NOVOSIBIRSK, September 6 — RIA Novosti. More than 120 hectares of forest burning in Siberia, on Tuesday morning centers registered in the Republic of Altai and Tuva, said District Department of Forestry.

"In the forest resources of the district has five forest fires in the area of 120.7 hectares, in the Altai Republic — four forest fires in the area of 15.7 hectares, in the Republic of Tyva — one forest fire in the area of 105 hectares," — said in a statement.

Fire occurred in the Altai on Monday, Tuva fire can not be eliminated from Thursday of last week.

In just the past day it was discovered ten new fires, six of which are in the area 3.91 hectares (Buryatia, Baikal, Altai Krai and Altai Republic) eliminated.

At present, according to the Department for fire fighting involved 62 people, six vehicles, three aircraft.

"The reason for the new fires was careless handling of fire of the local population," — said the agency.
