PATH launched new products for the nuclear industry

JSC "PNTZ plant" (PATH, is a member CTRP) has mastered the production of spacer wire uprated in stainless steel EK-164 for the nuclear industry, said the group.

Developed in the company CHEP spacer wire manufacturing technology is unparalleled in Russia. PATH is the exclusive supplier of round and oval wire before it was made of steel ES-68, but considering the requirements of the nuclear industry, the company CHEP has mastered the production of steel EK-164.

Round (diameter 1.05 mm) and oval (size 1,30 x0, 6 mm) wire is for spacing of the fuel elements in TVELnoy assembly in nuclear reactors. New metal is more resistant to aggressive (radioactive) environments. The annual demand of the nuclear industry in the wire will be more than 150,000 meters. PATH has already produced 12.5 thousand meters of production.

The nuclear industry for many years been one of the key consumers of Chelyabinsk Pipe and Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant. In 2011, the company CHEP pipe plants shipped about 1,000 tons of special types of tubes for nuclear workers, the report says.

PNTZ factory is a leading enterprise in Russia and Europe for the production of steel pipes, is a member of CHEP in 2005. The company produces more than 25,000 standard sizes of pipes and pipe profiles of 200 marks carbon, alloy and stainless steels.
