Ring of Fire is experiencing upheaval: volcanic mountains are closer to death

Startling new lead from the depths of the Pacific Ocean, where there are the most violent processes: the mass destruction of underwater mountains. The pictures were created by sonar under water, at a depth of four miles (6 km). They show how tectonic action dragging giant volcanoes into the abyss at the bottom of the ocean. Fault line running north from New Zealand via Tonga and Samoa, is very active. It faces the Pacific plate of the Indo-Australian Plate. Trench, which reaches depths of 10.9km, forms the second section of the ocean floor depth. The image shows that the volcano on the edge of a precipice about to be destroyed.Source: BBC
