St. Petersburg police prevented LGBT campaign [Video]

This afternoon in St. Petersburg LGBT activists tried to hold a rally in defense of the rights of sexual minorities in the Champ de Mars, but all the participants were dispersed by police.


Police blocked the action of LGBT activists on the Champ de Mars in St. Petersburg, but the four protesters refused to obey the requirements of the police and climbed over the fence, resulting in a fight broke out, hurt as police and activists. One of the participants in a scuffle broke his jaw and nose.

All demonstrators asked to go on the bus, about 60 people were forced to flee from flying into them rocks, smoke bombs, tomatoes, eggs and bottles that were thrown aggressive group of people on the bus, which seats 20 people.

With reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, ITAR-TASS reported on 60 detainees.

Police said the action was avoided, as contrary to the law banning gay propaganda.
